STATEMENT

I am drawn to the incomprehensible nature that is often involved in image making. My work is an exploration of the nostalgic and melancholic pensiveness side of human emotion through a figurative lens. Utilizing techniques found in contemporary realism to establish a mood and an illusion of space.

BIO

Gage is a painter born and raised in Medford, Oregon. He graduated from Laguna College of Art and Design with a BFA in Drawing and Painting. He takes influence from old masters and modern contemporary artists; ingesting those influences and regurgitating them in his own way. He currently resides in Washington state, living and continuing to paint out of his studio on Bainbridge Island.
